Latest Aston Martin Vanquish Premiers
Aston Martin has released the latest version of its Vanquish, and it would appear the British marque didn’t hold back.
Mated to the V12 is a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with an electronic rear limited-slip differential. The final drive ratio of 2.93:1 allows the car to hit a claimed 214 MPH top-speed.
The chassis has some serious upgrades over the previous flagship with a 75% increase in lateral stiffness. This Vanquish also is equipped with the latest Bilstein DTX suspension, a recalibrated Electric Power Assist Steering system, which the manufacturer claims a large divergence between driver modes from GT to Sport+.
While there is plenty of techno-wizardry throughout, it’s clear Aston Martin wants to focus on driver experience and enjoyment.
Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance, Simon Newton, said: “Vanquish brings another dimension to the revitalized Aston Martin range. The new V12 engine is a larger-than-life character, with immense torque from just above idle combined with a truly ferocious top-end. It really is an extraordinary engine. This sense of boundless propulsion had to be matched by an equal level of control and finesse; something we have achieved by further exploring the tremendous scope of the new Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, e-diff and latest generation electronics. We’ve also worked closely with Pirelli, developing a bespoke tyre tailored specifically to Vanquish. The resulting blend of dynamic precision, epic performance and luxurious refinement is uniquely special, with a bandwidth that sets a new standard for the marques halo model and is worthy of the Vanquish name”.
In all that PR speak did you catch the “bespoke tyre” comment? That’s correct, Aston Martin worked with Pirelli to develop two tires for this Vanquish. The new P ZERO for summer and P ZERO Winter 2 just for this car. No word mention of replacement cost though. Granted, if you’re dropping “Aston Martin coin” on a new purchase, 20 and 21-inch Pirelli’s won’t scare you off.
Exterior wise, the Vanquish is a new design. It’s a tear-drop front to rear with a rakish profile, according to the release. And has some striking features that are distinctly Aston Martin.
One of the most distinct and visually-apparent items is the Kamm Tail on the rear. This styling element is the rear ‘Shield’ with the Aston Martin text appearing to float in the rear. The designers in Gaydon Warwickshire, United Kingdom might disagree, but it has an odd and similar resemblance to the Ford Mustang RTR when in contrast black. But I digress.
Inside you’ll find a lux-future style with a very Aston look and feel. There are the obligatory digital-screen infotainment systems, connectivity options and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
Buyers can spec out the inside to their hearts content as Aston Martin is driven to provide the bespoke and customized experience for the halo-car buyers. Orders are open, spaces are limited and first deliveries are expected in Q4 of 2024.
