Road Legal Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in Monterey
Twenty Twenty-Five Monterey Car Week is off and running, and already making a scene is a road-legal Lamborghini Sesto Elemento!
Lamborghini built just 20 units of the Sesto Elemento, but this is the first we’ve seen called “road legal.” The factory never offered the model as a street-legal car, but this one is a confirmed aftermarket conversion by UK motorsports firm Lanzante.
Sources close to the factory recall an official attempt to sell the Sesto in the U.S. when it was new. Roughly a dozen prospective buyers were courted in Las Vegas with a track day behind the wheel at Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, but no sales were finalized. Interest was strong, but the lack of “road-legal” status ultimately kept buyers from committing.
After its brief spotlight, the Sesto Elemento largely disappeared from view for years. Then, sightings emerged of one running the streets of the Middle East — widely assumed to belong to royalty unconcerned with road regulations.
Most recently, the Lanzante Sesto Elemento appeared in the UK, creating a stir at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Lanzante, founded in the 1970s, is no stranger to such feats. The company began by restoring and preparing historic race cars, then expanded into motorsports competition in the 1990s. Today, it’s recognized as one of the top names for McLaren service — fitting, given it also houses McLaren Petersfield.
Lanzante has an impressive track record for road conversions of ultra-rare vehicles. In 2018, it debuted the Porsche 930 TAG Turbo, based on the 1980s model. For the project, it acquired 11 Formula One engines from McLaren, restored by Cosworth, and secured permission to produce the car.
According to the company’s Wikipedia page, Lanzante has also completed road-going conversions of a Pagani Zonda R, McLaren P1 GTR, two Porsche 935s, and the rotary-powered McLaren P1 GTR for drift racer “Mad Mike” Whiddett. They are currently working on a Pagani Huayra R conversion.
Now making its U.S. premiere, the Sesto Elemento is turning heads — and could very well be the “Belle of the Ball” at Monterey Car Week 2025.
Multiple outlets have reached out to Lanzante for details on the conversion, but nothing had been revealed at the time of publishing. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
