RM Sotheby's Monterey 2023 Preview Lost & Found Collection

One of the most exciting, enjoyable and various automotive event collections, Monterey Car Week, is right around the corner! (August 16-20, 2023)

We’re going to highlight some of the upcoming auctions and exciting events that should be a staple for anyone attending or watching over social channels.

Starting with one of the biggest and most notable auctions: RM Sotheby’s.

A combination of selections and collections will be up for grabs this August. Here a a few highlights from the available collections.

  • A Private Collection - 8 lots

Included in this lot is one of the foundational pillars of BMW Motorsports history. An incredible chance to own a race pedigree BMW 328 Special Competition Roadster.. Check out the story on the car and how it came to auction at the link here.

  • From the Terence E Adderley Collection - 14 lots

A 1931 Duesenberg Model J Tourster by Derham was brought over to Italy and left behind by its American owner in the early 1900’s. Subsequently, its Italian caretaker hid it under hay bales during the second world war in Italy. Once discovered it was sold and eventually found its way back to the United States.

  • The Iannelli Family Collection - 9 lots

If you’re  looking for a 2006 Ford GT with less than 1,000 miles on it, here is your chance. A beautiful Centennial White Clearcoat with Sonic Blue stripes, this GT has a rear bumper delete and Heffner Performance exhaust.

  • Lost & Found Collection - 20 lots

The “Lost & Found Collection” are 20 Ferrari’s that were hidden away in Florida until Hurricane Charley literally blew the roof off on the storage facility. The cars were then transported to storage in Indiana where they have remained. All 20 vehicles cross at “No Reserve” and will no doubt raise hefty sums for each of the collectible Italians.

  • From the Todd Blue Collection - 4 lots

One of 469 964-type Porsche 911 Speedsters to come Stateside is up at no-reserve. It’s painted in a Cobalt Blue Metallic, a “Paint to sample” color that is factory correct. This particular car has just under 52,000 miles on the odometer and is one of the more rare 964 variants produced.

  • The World Rally Classics Collection - 5 lots

Perhaps rally-oriented cars are your taste? Look no further than the 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution. This example is just one of 24 produced and is suspected of having less than 500 kilometers on it - as it lacks an odometer. What it does have though, includes the original tool kit, a rare piece, as well as the spare tire.

With just over 200 lots available for Monterey there is not doubt about a high-quality and vast selection for the RM Sotheby’s auction.
