Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Breaks Cover

Leave it to the Italians to show that automotive design isn’t left to artificial intelligence and focus groups these days.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the next halo car for the Italian marque. Inspired by the 1960’s Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale -a street version derivative of the Tipo 33 race car - this latest rendition will have nearly twice as many produced units, 33 compared to the original Stradale’s 18.

The price for entry on this one is, “More than you can afford pal…” because all 33 units are sold out. Speculation puts the price at or near the seven-figure mark, according to Car and Driver

Selling started at the Monza Formula One Grand Prix in 2022, at which 3 cars sold that weekend and the remaining in the few weeks following, according to Cristiano Fiorio, Head of Alfa Romeo Strategic Projects.

Smooth and curvaceous lines come courtesy of coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera (CTS) which Alfa has maintained a relationship with since its founding in 1926.

It’s not just all looks either. Despite it having the butterfly-doors, glass canopy and mix of both old world and modern styles, the 33 Stadale will have two options on powertrain. For those wanting to maintain an internal combustion powertrain, a 620 horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 will suffice. This comes from the Maserati MC20 of which the 33 Stradale shares quite a bit of chassis components as well.

If trendy is the buyer’s ticket, a 750 horsepower 240 mile range battery pack will be available, but that’ll add an extra 1,500 lbs of weight. Even with the battery pack, the 0-60MPH time is estimated to be 3.0 seconds or less. Top speed? 207 MPH claims Alfa.

Look for the 33 Stradale to start making appearances in late 2024, early 2025. More than likely around Monte Carlo, Monterey and Italy. We look forward to it!
