Lamborghini CEO Expresses Hesitation on All-EV Future

Lamborghini Urus SE Plug-In Hybrid

In a recent interview with Automotive New Europe, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann expressed the manufacture’s skepticism of all-electric supercar success.

Full-electric sports supercars are “not something that is selling so far,” Winkelmann said in an interview. “It’s too early, and we have to see down the road if and when this is going to happen.”

In what appears to be a moment of clarity, multiple manufacturers are walking back and our slowing their enthusiastic adaptation of all-electric nonsense.

Lamborghini currently has multiple hybrid-powered vehicles in production and in the wings. Its all-electric two-door crossover – Lanzador-  isn’t due to arrive till 2028.

Winkellman implies e-fuels as a viable alternative down the road, “There might be an opportunity if things change.”

Whether or not this changes the marques Direzione Cor Tauri, is yet to be determined. But ICE enthusiasts can hold to hope that the all-electric future is just a little further down the horizon.
